A bound photograph album, with numerous additional loose photographic prints, was compiled by Edith Storey as a record of her life and work during the first decades of the 20th century. Candid and studio photographs depict her professional career and her private life. Some photos appear to be taken on the sets of motion pictures she made for the Vitagraph Studios.

Biographical/historical: Edith Storey (1892-1967) was an American silent film actor who appeared in almost 150 short films between 1908 and her retirement in 1921. Born and raised in New York, she began her acting career as a young child before appearing in her first film, Francesca di Rimini, at the age of fourteen. She acted primarily in films produced by the Vitagraph Studios, based in New York City, although she was briefly under contract with Star Film Company and Metro. She was especially well-regarded for her roles in Western films and her ability to perform her own physical stunts, including horseback riding. After retiring, Storey moved to Northport, Long Island, New York, where she died in 1967.
