Oil paintings owned by the New York Public Library. These works include portraits of members of the Astor and Lenox families, by artists such as Gilbert Stuart (1755-1828), John Wesley Jarvis (1780-1840), and John Trumbull (1756-1843). The paintings hang in various locations in the library, and some are on view in the Edna Barnes Salomon Room in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building on Fifth Avenue.
