Content: Written on border: "Aug. 1848." "A word respecting the proper and graceful mode of holding up the habit is also extremely necessary. The full falling folds and flowing ease of the habit and held with the one hand, in order, I presume, to leave the other free for the whip-an unnecessary case, as the right hand can hold both whip and habit too."
