Content: Printed on border: "The work table. Nos. 1, 2, 3. Parasols. There are various eccentricities this season in parasols. The octagon and square-corned shape is a novelty adopted by a few, but cannot as yet be pronounced popular … No. 1 shows a parasol decorated in imitation of swallows .. No. 2 is a pale lilac satin parasol, trimmed with a row of black lace, and above the lace with lilac satin bows … No. 3 is a white satin parasol, decorated with white feathers and pink robbons …" Captions: "Parasol" "Feather bouquet (detail of parasol no. 3)" "Tatted collar" "Details of parasol (No. 3)." Written on border: "June 19, 1869."
