Content: Printed on mount: "It was built by the Sothern California Edison Co. in 1921 and contains two Francis type turbines connected to 21,500 horsepower generators. It operates under a head of 800 feet, which is a record operating head for this type of water wheel. The power is transmitted at 70,000 volts a distance of 45 miles, where it is raised to 150,000 and transmitted to Los Angeles over the same transmission lines which convey the current from the company's hydro-electric properties on Big Creek and the San Joaquin River in Fresno County, California."
