Description
A brief segment, put together for French TV, of Merce Cunningham and the Merce Cunningham Dance Company rehearsing (and possibly performing---it is hard to distinguish from the footage presented) a performance of Native Green in Chateauvallon, France, in July 1993. The footage is accompanied by a presenter/reporter's voiceover (in French). There are brief snippets of an interview with Cunningham, but these are overdubbed in French as well. Two silent pieces of video footage, several seconds long, the first a shot of an unknown man and the second a shot of two unidentifiable wooden objects, immediately follow the Cunningham footage. They are apparently unrelated to anything in the Cunningham segment, and it appears that either the Cunningham material was recorded over previously existing footage on the tape, or that these images were recorded onto the remainder of the original tape.
