Content: Black and white, with areas of tinting, lithographic poster (1880) promoting magician Alexander Herrmannn and "his wonderful specialties." Poster depicts a central cartouche of Hermann's head above a flaming brazier, with snake entwined and a textual banner weaving through the various images, and surrounded by scenes of Herman peforming three acts, including the "Decapitation Act," the "Spirit Cabinet", and anduntitle scene of Herrmann holding a gun and a rabbit while a bat fly away. Images are bordered with decorative details in the Eastlake style. Published by Strobridge Publishing Co. (Cleveland, Ohio). The poster has been trimmed from its original size and mounted on a heavy paper backing.
