Content: Title and credits from cataloger.
Biographical/historical: Ragas were first introduced in the United States by famed performers Ali Akbar Khan (live 1955 concert in New York City playing the tabla) and sitar player Ravi Shankar, who performed in an international tour in 1956 (according to Ravi Shankar's page on Wikipedia). The commentator/instructor and performers featured on audio are unidentified; it's uncertain that it was Ravi Shankar doing the commentary.
