Description
Both parties mean to make a struggle in the election of the lower house of the assembly in October; the federalists will doubtless win, and they will then alter the law and substitute a choice by the legislature for the present district election of electors; Delaware is for Adams and Pinckney, the Carolinas uncertain; Brown and Relf's publication [the Philadelphia Gazette] containing Dayton's reply to the Aurora lies, was republished here; Dayton owes it to his country and to the cause of decency to prosecute this scoundrel [William Duane]; he himself has decided to pursue that course on the first occasion.
