Extent: 1 photographic print : b&w ; 50 x 40 cm.
Description
Image depicts Martha Graham in the role of Medea in her dance work Cave of the heart. She stands on an irregular "u"-shaped set piece, her arms raised overhead. She wears a black ankle-length dress with a metallic serpentine design on her skirt and holds a wire sculpture which extends from both sides of her body and branches out above her head. Set and sculptural elements were designed by Isamu Noguchi.
