Content: Double-sided folding paper fan, the recto with hand-coloured etching depicting the Fête de la Fédération, verso with lyrics to the a Ira, and printed key to the illustration, lettered in centre 'le serment fait du Roi, le 14 Juillet.’ French propaganda fan commemorating the Fête de la Fédération which was held exactly a year after the Storming of the Bastille, as a symbol of peace and a celebration of the unity of the French nation.
