Content: Fol. 1b-47b : illuminated copy of Muḥyī al-Dīn Lārī's "Futūḥ al-ḥaramayn", a rhymed description of the Holy Cities of Mecca and Medina and other piligrimage sites in the Hijaz. Illustrations: 19b (al-Masjid al-Ḥarrām); 20a (Ṣafā wa-Marwah); 22a (Jabal Abū Qubays); 22b (Sūq al-Layl); 23a (arcaded street in the town of Mudʻā); 25b (tombs in Mecca); 26a (elevation of a mountain with a shrine that commemorates the birth of ʻUmar); 27a (Mount ʻArafat); 28b (Muzdalifah); 29a (Jabal Nūr); 29b (Jabal Thawr); 34b (Mīnā); 39b (Jabal Mifraḥ); 41b (the Prophet's mosque in Medina); 43b (the burial place in Medina called Baqīʻ); 44a (Masjid Qubā); 44b (Masjid Shmas, Masjid Ḥaz̤rat); 45a (four mosques); 46a (Jabal Uḥud); 47a (al-Ḥaram al-Sharīf in Jerusalem), 47b (the Prophet's sandal). Fol. 48-62a : Apparently a recention of the tenth-century (AH)/sixteenth-century description of Mecca and the al-Masjid al-Ḥarrām by Muḥammad ibn Maʻṣūm ibn Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ Damāvandī, which was apparently written in the late sixteenth century (probably competed after 1598). Another recention of the text was publish by Rasūl Jaʻfarīyān. Both texts were copied by the same scribe and intended to constitute a single manuscript (not a composite manuscript). For fols. i(a)-vi(a) and vii(a)-xv(b) x(b)-xiv(b): poetry couplets in Persian, a passage in Arabic (1a), an invocation in Arabic (62b); unidentified text in Persian (ix(b)-x(a)); a list of the holdings of a small library (xv(b)).
Content: For fols. 1b-47b : 15 lines, 2 columns, Nastʻlīq script with headings in red, blue and pale tan (probably imititaing gold) rulings. There is no illuminated headpiece, but floral rinceaux on yellow, bloe, green, and red triangles appear on folios 21b, 24b, 25a, 41a, 43s 45b, There are a few marginal notes and numerous illustrations, colored in red. green. gold, yallow, black and blue. For fols. 48b-62a: 15 lines, 2 columns, Nastʻlīq script with headings in red, blue and pale tan rulings.
