Fol. 1b-112b : a copy of Mullā Muẓaffar's astronomical work Tanbīhāt-i Mullā Muẓaffar, a treatise on astrology, dedicated to Shāh ʻAbbās I [r. 1587-1629] and divided into a muqaddimah, six bābs, and a khātimah. Fols. 115b-120b - atronomical/astrlogical charts. Fols. 121a-144b: an unidentified, probably incomplete astronomical/astrological treatise titled Dalāʼil al-kawākib fī al-ḥudūd ʻalá madhhab Ahl al-Rūm wal-al-kawāʼīnīn (?) wa-ghayrihim. Fols. 146a-169a: Khulāṣah-yi Ṣuvar al-kavākib, an abridgement of the Persian translation of the tenth-century astronomical/astrological work by ʻAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʻUmar al-Ṣūfī al-Rāzī,(d. 374/984). Fols. 169b-244a - an astronomical/astrological work in Persian by Quṭb al-Dīn ʻIzz al-Dīn ʻAbd al-Ḥayy al-Zāhidī al-Kabīrī al-Ḥusaynī al-Lārī.Content: Tanbīhāt-i Mullā Muẓaffar was copied by Mīrzā Muḥammad al-Kaylānī al-Zāhidānī (?).Content: "The Year of the Dog" (it yıl)Content: Physical description : Cream, slightly burnished paper; number of lines vary from treatise to treatise (21, 12, 17). Black ink, key words in red/orange. Charts in black, ruling in orange/red. Khulāṣah-yi Ṣuvar al-kavākib contains 37 illustrations : coloring of the human figures, animals and objects is restricted to gray, tan and pale green, with some accents of rose, pale orange and red; stars are in orange. Most treatises are written in Nastʻlīq; Dalāʼil al-kawākib written in Naskh. Marginal notes and magic squares in Arabic and Persian. Several effaced ownership seals.Content: Date of copying of the other treatises and works is unknown, probably late seveneenth/early eighteenth centuries.Preferred citation: NYPL.
