Content: Physical description : Fine waxed chinese paper, dyed in turquoise-blue (robin's egg blue) sparkled with gold, and painted with landscape scenery, blossoming trees and birds in gold. 11 lines, 2 columns. Fine Nastaʻlīq script in black ink with key words in gold. Gold and black rulings. The dedication (fols. 2b-3a) is written in light gold on a darker gold background with a faint geometric and vegetal design within ogival frames patterned with large geometric and vegetal designs colored pale mauve, light green and pale blue. The spandrels have further large geometric and vegetal designs on vine scrolls in gold and the same colors. Paint is applied more thinly along the countours of the plants, giving the effect of shading. There is also a row of small punched dots along the contours. On fols. 3b-4a, the first eight lines of the poem are reserved on the blue paper from the background of faint gold cross-hatching, and surrounded by elaborated borders rendered in two tones of gold. The four panels above and below the poetry contain the full title of the work and the name and honorifics of the author. One minatiure depicting Maḥmūd of Ghaznah visiting an ascetic (fol. 27b).
